Miley Ray Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23rd, 1992 in Franklin, Tennessee and raised in Thompson's Station, Tennessee to Tish Cyrus & Billy Ray Cyrus. Five siblings are hers - two half-brothers and a half-sister and a younger brother and sister. Miley's parents named her hoping they would have her succeed. Miley became her childhood name Smiley due to its cheerfulness. Her father was an elected Democratic politician who was named Ron Cyrus. Cyrus was initially educated at Heritage Elementary School in Tennessee. At the age of eight the family relocated into Toronto, Canada, where Cyrus her father Billy Ray took a role in the TV show Doc (2001). Around this time, Cyrus also decided to be an actor. The first role she played was with her father in Doc (2001). Her first appearance was as the father of Doc (2001). Cyrus was chosen in 2005 as the main character of the Disney TV show Hannah Montana, which is the story of a teenage girl who has a dual life. Once again, her father was on the show with her. It became an instant success with sold-out shows were announced along with the signing of merchandising contracts. Cyrus quickly became a star among teens. Cyrus began taking on various roles in the wake of her success with Hannah Montana (2006). This included roles as Ronnie Miller (in The Last Song, 2010) as well as Lola (in LOL (2012)) along with Demi Moor.
